Grave Secrets by Marlene Austin

This book was really good, especially if you like mysteries.  It took me a few chapters to get into it, but once there, I kept turning those pages, dying to figure out who did what?  Who she would end up with?  Anyway, The storyline is about a girl who is already an Orphan and is brought up by her Grandmother, who she though she knew.  When her Grandmother dies, she is confused to the terms of her Grandmothers will, having nothing really to loose she decides to do as her Grandmother has asks and lives in a little house in a small town for a year and try her hand at writing.  This is a mystery and romance and I promise it will not dissapoint.  I really liked this book.  I read this book in August 2011 and gave this book 5 Stars.

Mark of Royalty by

At a time when infants are marked at birth, a royal advisor secrets away an infant girl to save her life.  The woman he give the infant to Miranda agrees to raise the girl as her own.  Mirands tries to pair her daughter Sarah with the Kings Nephew, which would only be fit for her she truly is.  Although Sarah as little regard for the Kings Nephew to please her mother she tries to like him.  She meets another man who she finds much more appealing but Sarah, wanting to please her mother after her mother dies tries to find the good in the Kings Nephew.  Her mark is found and things change forever.  This book was amazing, I don't normally like anything to do with fantasy and Kings and princesses are truly fantasy to me.  I promise that after you read this book  you will be pondering the characters and the twists and turns that finish this story into such an amazing read.  I would personally love this book to become a movie I think it would be amazing.  I read this book in August 2011 a

Her Reluctant Bodyguard by Jenette Green

Alexa gets offered a dream job, writing a biography for a pop star Colin Radcliff and going on tour to Europe to do it.  How could anyone turn that down.  She is thrilled, till she starts reciving death threats.  Colin gets worried and puts her on 24/7 bodyguard protection in the form of his best body guard Jamison.  This book was actually really cute, I wasn't sure what I would think to it, but the energy was good I ended up loving the characters and was sorry when I had finished it.  I read this book in August 2011 and I gave this book 4 Stars.

The Guise of a Gentleman by Donna Hatch

After reading other books by this Author I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book, it took some time and I waited patiently for the Library to let me know they had a copy.  Elise is a widow with a young son, when she meets Jared Amesbury she is immediately smitten with his roguish charm.  Jared Amesbury is a gentleman by day Pirate by night.  Jared wants out of the Pirate business and is undercover working for the government, when he hears of one last assignment he cannot turn it down.  Unfortunately the assignment goes back and Elise being seen with him is dragged into his world.  This is a complex plot and although I love this Author I had a hard time keeping up with this one.  Their is a light romance, nothing like the romance of her other books, but still a great and interesting read and well worth the time.  I read this book in August 2011 and I gave this book 3 stars.

Jewel of His Heart by Maggie Brendan

This book is set in Montana in 1890's.  Julianna likes Josh, who is a sheep herder, when he find some precious stones, he considers mining, this is the occupation that Juliannas father away from her and her mother, having just lost her mother Julianna doesn't see a relationship with Josh going anywhere if he set himself up as a miner.  This book was easy to read and easy to guess to whom she would end up with and where the story was headed.  If your looking for just a simple fun romantic book, this is definately great.  I read this book in August 2011 and gave it 3 stars.

Ice Baron by Jennette Green

This book has a ver different setting to most books I read, the author brings you into the story and she sets the book in the 31st Century.  This immediately drew me in as a reader.  I wish the author had gone into greater detail to explain more of the future she had the book set in.  The flow of the story was amazing, the charcters were likeable, I felt that the Hero should have had more depth.  Anya had loved Josh for years, but as her Protector the love is forbidden.  For Josh this doesn't seem to be a problem as he tries to marry her to a Baron in order to have peace between the two kingdoms.  I read this book in August 2011 and like I said enjoyed reading it.  The author is very gifted and I have now read quite alot of her books.  I gave this book 4 stars.

Wind Dancer by Jamie Carie

Isabelle is a free spirit, unlike most women.  She takes on a journey to travel to collect some books for her church.  Her mother agrees to the journey as long as she takes a tour guide and her brother with her.  Whilst travelling to obtain the books she meet Samuel, he tags along with them as they are going to the same place, when the tour guide goes missing, they are attached by Indians and held prisoner.  She is forced to watch as they kill her brother, in order to stay alive she must act as they do.  This is hard as she is wild and likes to be free, she tests her boundaries, she refuses to conform.  This book is interesting, not a favorite book of mine, I wonder about the portrayal of the Indians, not sure if they would act as the book says they do.  I did find her intriguing, I expected more from the book.  I read this book in June and I gave it 3 stars.

The Stranger She Married by Donna Hatch

Cicumstances beyond her control put Alicia in a position where she has to accept a marriage proposal in order to keep her and her family from financial ruin.  She agrees to marry a man she doesn't know and doesn't love , who is extremely wealthy and he promises her he will not only take care of her but also will take care of her family financially.  With little choice she accepts.  I really liked this book, the characters had great depth and you want Alicia to be happy.  As I read this book my fairy tale ending didn't seem possible but the twist at the end was just what I as looking for.  I love books by this Author but I think this would be my favorite book by her.  I read this book in June and gave it 5 stars.

No place for a Lady by Maggie Brendan

This book start out really slow, I hadnt read anything else by this author.  The description was amazing I got a great idea of the landscape and where this book was set, it sounded amazing.  The characters were good, I could relate to them.  It left me looking for other books by this author.  The plot was a privilaged girl from the east whose Father dies and she has to go live in the West with her aunt.  I read this book in June 2011 and gave this book 3 stars.

Queen in Exile by Donna Hatch

When I first got this book although I had read many books by this author I wasn't sure if I would like this one.  I'm not really into fairy tales and fantasy book.  This book was quite the surprise, I enjoyed it so much more than I thought I would, the characters were amazing and real and I love the fantasy part of it.  It was a little mysterious and definately romantic I read this book very fast as I found it very good, and I was sad when it ended.  The plot of the book is a princess who has a gift, after her family is all killed she is taken to another kingdom to be protected, of course that is only the beginning!!  I read this book in August 2011 and gave this book 5 stars.

Wyoming by Colleen Coble

Wyoming is not your normal run of the mill book.  This book is four stories that entwine and make the whole book.  The men in this book are in the millitary defending the frontier, the women come to the fort looking for love.  The first book is about a girl who after agreeing to marry another man, realizes her fiance is not dead, can he forgive her?  She follows him to Fort Larmie hoping he will.  The second book is about a girl who after living as husband and wife for over a year finds out she is pregnant, after an accident her husband dies and she finds out she is not truly married to him, he has a wife and son already.  She move to Fort Larmie to be with her friends and maybe to find love?  The third book is about a privileged daughter of an army officer, after an accident can she change and become a person someone else would want to marry?  The fourth book is about a girl who is married by proxy thanks to her meddling sister, after deciding not to let her sister down she travels to

Well you never know when you might fall in love, for Hope she was also a mail order bride and whilst travelling to meet her soon to be husband is kidnapped by a band of payroll thieves.  Dan a federal agent wants out of his life and to settle down somewhere quiet for his last assignment he is asked to infiltrate a band of payroll thieves.  This book was funny, unpredictable, and amusing all the way through.  A really funny read. I read this book in July 2011 and I gave this book 3 stars.

June (Brides of the West Book 2) by Lori Copeland

June leaves her home to be a mail order bride in Washington State.  After arriving she meets her intended who is very sick.  She clashes immediately with her future husbands best friend who doesn't agree with him marrying a mail order bride.  Her fiance dies and she is left not knowing what to do.  She decides to stay on helping with the preaching work her fiance started, she continues to clash with his best friend, but eventually sparks fly and she finds love.  This book was funny and I really liked the characters.  I read this book in July 2011 and gave this book 3 stars.

Faith (Brides of the West Book 1) by Lori Copeland

Faith goes to Texas as a mailorder bride, and one thing after another keeps happening to stop her from marrying her intended.  This was a really funny and easy book to read.  The characters were funny and I really enjoyed reading how many different ways a wedding could be postponed.  I read this book in July 2011 and gave this book 3 stars.

If I should Die by Jennie Hansen

The storyline of this book two friends who jog everyday, one day her friend doesn't show up to jog with her and they try to figure our why? Is she missing? Is she Kidnapped?  Is she Dead?  Did she run away.  This is one of my favorite authors I love her mystery/romance feel she gives her books.  I kind of got a little creeped out as this was set close to where I use to live.  Also this could happen to any of us.  The author really did a great job.  This was another book I would guess and guess at before I thought I knew who did it?  I was wrong most of the way through.  I liked her characters and the storyline was a little creepy for any joggers out there but overall a great read.  I read this book in June 2011 I gave this book 4 Stars.

Montanna Summer by Jeanette Miller

This book was fantastic.  I have been to Montanna and the way the author describes it reminds me just like when I was there.  It was great.  I liked the forbidden love she had going on, she was careful and i'm sure this really does happen and I wonder how families get through this.  The plot was about a girl who goes to her fiance home in Montanna to spend time before there wedding.  She meets her fiances brother and sparks fly.  I loved the characters they were real and life like.  I read this book in June 2011. I gave this book 4 stars.

The Lightkeepers Daughter by Colleen Coble

This book was quite good, I have not read any books by this Author and liked the mystery of the plot I would guess and guess and guess again to see if I was right and in the end I wasn't.  So the twists in this book were good not what I was expecting.  The plot was quite simple but the twists were not.  I liked the main girl character, but didn't relate to the other characters very well. I read this book in May 2011.  I gave this book 3 stars.

Constant Hearts by Donna Hatch

This was definately not one of my favorite books by this Author I normally love to read her books but was dissapointed in the short story and not enough detail to make the book worth reading.  The book definately had potential the characters would have been likeable if we had known more about them.  The book lacked depth which made the book boring.  I think I read it in one hour.  So if your looking for an easy quick read this is it, but my problem with it was you just got to know something of the characters and then the story ended.  I would like to see this book developed into a longer version. I read this book in August 2011.  I gave this book 2 stars

The Commander's Desire by Jennette Green

I got this on my kindle and really enjoyed the author.  The  plot was basic but good, I liked the characters, I did guess the hidden clues but still enjoyed being right.  The time period was intriguing and would have liked the author to have explored that more but this didn't take away from the story line which was also good.  I would also have liked to have know if the place the story was set in was fictional or real.  A great read. I gave this book 4 Stars I read it in August 2011
